Information: According to Bergmeier et al. (2020): "specimens from the area identied as Chamaecytisus eriocarpus (Boiss.) Rothm. appear to belong to C. frivaldszkyanus. C. eriocarpus s. str. has been described from W Turkey and is scattered in the Balkans with westernmost occurrences in Albania (Pifkó & Barina 2016; Barina & al. 2017). It remains to be established to what extent populations of C. eriocarpus in N Greece (southward to c. 39°30'N) belong to this species or to C. frivaldszkyanus. The latter has been synonymized with Chamaecytisus lasiosemius (Boiss.) Pifkó but is considered a separate species by D. Pifkó".
