Information: Greek plants have often been called E. baselicis Ten. or E. barrelieri Savi. As currently understood E. barrelieri (syn.: E. baselicis) is endemic to Italy. Several other taxa in this complex occur in the W & C Balkan Peninsula, including E. thessala in the SE part of the range, in Greece extending from the northern borders southwards to c. 39°N.
